The University administration has announced the introduction of a new transport service for students, effective from March 1st, 2024. This service will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis along specified routes, catering to the commuting needs of students.
In an official notification issued by the Assistant Registrar of Transport Services, students have been informed that the University Transport (Student Buses) will operate along five designated routes. These routes include Humhama, Hyderpora, Sanat Nagar, Barzulla, Jahangir Chowk via SangarMall, Nowhatta, Kathi Darwaza; Nowgam Railway Station, Pantha Chowk, Dalgate via Rainawari; Main Chowk Narbal, Shaltang, Qamarwari, Eid gah via Mill Stop, Lal Bazar; Degree College Ganderbal via Gulabagh, and IOT Zakura to Main Campus (Shuttle Service).
Students interested in availing themselves of this transport facility are required to register themselves on the University website, www.uok.edu.in, from February 26th, 2024, until February 29th, 2024. Each route is associated with a proposed monthly rate, ensuring affordability and accessibility for students from various locations. The rates per month are as follows:
